Adelaide Phoenix is a Greek-Canadian screenwriter, author, actor, and multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film, television, literature, and performance. Her storytelling is shaped by nearly a decade spent living in Costa Rica and by her Greek-Canadian heritage, with work frequently exploring identity, belonging, unconventional love, cultural displacement, and transformation.

Adelaide studied Theatre at the University of Ottawa before graduating with Honours from the University of Toronto, where she double majored in Literature and Theatre. She later attended the invite-only New School Writing Lab in New York City under acclaimed author and journalist Susan Shapiro. Her performance training includes Meisner technique with actor and screenwriter Shaun Benson, alongside extensive training in film, television, improvisation, and on-camera performance in Toronto.

As an actor, Adelaide’s screen credits include Investigation Discovery’s Motives & Murders: Cracking the Case and the feature anthology ABCs of Death 2, as well as commercial, music video, and independent film work.

Her current screenwriting slate includes a Costa Rica-set feature film, a one-hour television Costa Rican dramedy, and the Greek historical drama Salt & Honey, alongside a growing body of original film and television projects. She is also the author of the poetry collection soon to be published with one of the big five and works across poetry, fiction, and children’s literature.

Drawing from a life lived between Canada, Costa Rica, and Greece, Adelaide gravitates toward visually distinctive, character-driven stories about complicated women, outsiders, and people searching for freedom and belonging. Her work blends romance, dark humour, adventure, and social commentary with an international perspective.
